Thanks for the reply. I don't think I'm trying to raise the gain - but rather lower it. I may have used the wrong terminology before and might use it wrong again here, but will try to clarify what I want to do. I don't have the amp yet and not sure I'm going to get one so we have to talk in general terms. I'm not sure where the volume control will be on the preamp when the power amp reaches it's max but I'd like the preamp gain to be about 12 o'clock. If it comes at 9 o'clock and I have controls on the power amp, I can lower them. That's what I envision anyway. The amp I use now has controls and they are both set about 10 o'clock and the preamp at 12 o'clock for max volume. I hope I didn't make it more confusing - I sometimes do that.
