Be careful with the LT1085 device recommended...

they are not as stable as the LM340 and LM317 and require more care to ensure stability than the ones you are thinking of replacing. I personally don't consider the LT1085 an upgrade unless you need the low dropout voltage, high current output characteristic or more precise reference voltage it offers (which I doubt). You will be trading these off for worse transient response which frankly is more critical in most audio applications.

It is a positive regulator and will not replace the LM337 which is a negative regulator.

I would simply increase the input and output capacitance (and quality thereof) on what you have now and you will end up with a better tweak than going to the LT device IMHO.
