I have a novel way that I have been using for about ten years....Choose your wire, 14 or 12ga and hook all the outlets together serially and then at the end of the chain hook a wire back to the tie-in at the IEC.....What did this accomplish? Probably not much, but it made me feel better knowing there would not be an outlet that was closer to the source.....My feeling is that teflon is way too good for AC as trying to slow things down rather than keep them the same speed....I would use tin plated PVC insulated copper in 14ga and solder away after taking out the screws in the outlets....
