Coupling capacitor also causes a phase error. At –3dB point it is 45deg. In one typical situation (10uF cap and 40kohms amp’s input impedance) you’ll have these parameters:
-3dB point at 0.4Hz (here appears 45deg phase error)
at 20Hz 1.12 deg phase error
There is also certain phase errors inside the audio band, for example it is about 0.2deg at 100Hz. That is the reason to keep cut-off point as far from audio band as possible.Is this important? I think it is more important to use a quality cap. (And some capacitors will have insufficient bass regardless of their capacitance, for sure.)
