You paid too much for them 301's...I think it would definitely be in teresting to build a pair of 301 look alikes and use different drivers and crossovers. But then again I've had two pairs of Wharfedale Diamonds...I have one pair of 7.1's laying around (Swans M1 are my main speakers now). You can always use them for surround speakers in a secondary HT setup.
