Go to Jon Risch's site- he describes a basic inductor/capacitor/varistor filter/suppresor. It is linked off the AudioAsylum FAQ. These can be made to fit into either of the above chassis', but might require some modification in the smaller one. Or, you can just replace the captive cord with a nicer DIY one, and remove anything besides the outlets, and replace the fuse with a thermal breaker, and use a Harris Varistor for surge suppression, and appropo caps (described on Risch's site) across the line for a simplified filter.
