What is this hissing sound?

Hopefully this ward can help me out. When watching T.V. I sometimes hear this strange static like sound coming from the speakers, usually the center channel.Mostly when people are talking. Its like a "ch" type sound. Its kind of like it's too loud or there is too much of something coming through.Only sometimes, never with CD's or other sources.I changed cables, reciever, and swapped out different speakers, but it persists, which leads me to believe its my cable.I've got digital cable, and a run of about 65-75 feet. That single run is split to 3 different TVs (I get the a little bit of the sound on all of the TVs).I tried a coax signal booster, and that just gave me a bunch of picture distortion, even at the lowest setting.I also got a clean power adapter. The coax looks to be of decent quality, nice thick pin, good shielding,no power lines in the way etc(installed before I went digital).I was going to buy some "Monster Cable",and change the route of the run to reduce it by about 15-20 feet.Would this help?
