This question ignores power factor.A transformer supplying 1A of current at 120 VAC is true only if the phase angle between current and voltage is zero. For any kind of reactive load, this is not true, and most bridge rectified linear power supplies will show a power factor of 0.7 or so.
Power (watts) = V x A x PF
