Brass is an alloy of Copper and Zinc. Bronze is, typically, an alloy of Copper and Tin; some Bronzes are made with Silicon and Phosphorus instead of Tin.Ferrous metals are Iron and its alloys. Ferrous comes from ferum, the Latin word for Iron.
