Buy what component? For the noise hound? Not much DIY in terms of electronics.
One is build a hush box for my front projector. Got all the wood, did the cutout, planned all the air flow and strategic placement of sound absorbers, but left it at that. Dunno why, maybe thought the routing of all sides to give it that Sonus Faber look made me hesistant, or maybe it is just that I learned to live with that giant whoosh.
Power cable project. Never got too far with that except for some cables lying around. Started buying commercial cables instead.
Retrofit cable with proper connectors. Got a bunch of Krell power amp cable and wanted to change the 20A IEC to 15A so that I could use it on secondary components like Projector and crossovers. Researched on various IEC, but never got beyond that.
Build my own 30ft HD-15 to HD-15 RGBHV using the Canare V5-5CFB. Never got far on that. The requirement on soldering tiny pins, shaving cable insulation and such to fit that fat wire into a VGA connector made me not go far. The temporary HD15/13W3 converter to 2 13W3 extension cables to another 13W3/HD15 converter is still in place.
Magnepan MG-IIIa reglue. Found a rip too, so approaching that at a leisure pace. Using 1 MG10.1 from the surround channel as substitute for now.
Plus many tweaks that is only in the "maybe I should" like
Build soffit for drop down projection screen
Maggie xo upgrade
Maggie frame stiffening method
