I think it'd work better. It removes the internal IC wiring as a source of trouble as well - since it's now grounded too.Let me add to my prior posts by saying that an amp or preamp with a high input impedance (like a vintage tube amp) is more susceptible than a low impedance device. Forgot to mention that earlier.
