Hi Sam, The circuit you are using sends a portion of the
hi frequency information back to the amplifier instead
of to the speaker. This accounts for the attenuation
in the hi end. Improved quality of the parts will not
change this. No offense to you, I know you mean well,
but this is sort of a hackers quick fix to a
hi end problem. It has been reported
here on the asylum that sometimes the high frequencies
sent back to the amplifier cause oscillations which
can heat up the amp and burn it out. Keep an eye
on your amp for excessive heat. It could work out
OK for you too just be careful.
For the proper method to stabilize the hi end
