Hello Clayton,Not meaning to be petty, but I think your thinking of a cylinder, a sphere DOES posses the best deffraction losses/gains possible, with a perfectly predictable curve. For spheres, the best spot is the middle. For ANYTHING else, yes, i'll agree, offseting the driver achieves the greatest results.
People have to stop believing marketing crap. A spere is THE harest enclsure to manufacture, and so the marketing dept. will tell you anything to avoid it.Believe me, the speakers i've heard that made use of speres were on the next level. Please note though that i did say things change when you put them into a room.
