You've just revealed the best kept secret in audio. Old Heil drivers are SUPERB HF drivers. They can be purchased for peanuts, from owners, who think a 15-20 year old speaker must need updating. Wrong! The major problem with old ESS speakers, is the midrange suckout and a few other things. A dedicated amateur can emply Heil drivers into a brilliant speaker system.
Please, let's not tell the world about these things. Let's keep it to ourselves, lest the second hand price goes through the roof.
