My eight year old Nakamichi receiver and cdp had 18 guage power cords. I went down to my local ACE hardware and purchased some 14 guage power cord sold by the foot and a couple of good quality plugs. I had to take the covers off and solder the other ends of the cords.Total cost for two cords about $25. I was pleased with the audible improvments, a more tactile detailed sound with increased presence. Well worth the $25 and a few hours of my time.
