Mods for a Denon DCD-3300 CDP

I own a Denon DCD-3300 CDP with 2nd generation circuitry. It 4 x oversampling 16 bit converter with Super-Linear Converters. I like burr-brown dacs from other Denon products. I am a neophyte to the DIY electronic mods hobby. My experience is building computers without the knowledge of the circuit boards and soldering all the wires in my car stereo.
I want to know what kind of Mods could I do? Or is this best left up to a mod shop? Also what book / internet information is available for general electronics starter?
