Walking through Orchard Supply yesterday I caught a section with a variety of steel and aluminum stock. I made a mental note of it for the future as some of the aluminum forms could be cut into sizes suitable for heatsinks. It would be much cheaper and heftier than anything I could find in RS or Mouser.
