I have never added and never will add an audio coupling transformer anywhere within the interconnect confines of my system. These problems always have solutions within the design of the products without resorting to their addition.For me it is a band aid approach. I always go for root cause. I know that companies exist and thrive selling these isolation transformers but they have their own set of problems that come with them, and they do affect the sonics, no matter what anyone tells you.
Simpler is usually better from an audio perspective...
