Hi Technofossil!Yes, it's obsolete and it's no longer in active "comission" according to my investigation.
This chip was once popular in the late 70s and early 80s (around 1979/80) and onwards until mid 80s. Many stock still available but not many people use it except repair business. I only managed to find it off of a Japanese Semiconductor manual (listed on it's index) published in 1981. If you need it plse let me know (I'll give you the info). Mind you though: these publications are so "old" that they may not be available anymore.
Are there any other better, more recent substitutes avail besides this one? Can I be of any help?!
