A year ago, I built a pair of cylindrical speakers using 11" dia. paper fiber tubes from Shapes Unlimited in Minnesota. Unlike sonotubes, these were entirely smooth and much easier to finish (also not coated with wax like sonotubes). If it's not too late, I suggest you switch to this type of product instead.I finished mine with Zolatone, a faux stone paint. You can see what they look like at the site listed below.
