It's all about the output bypass, pick any good modern regulator (LM317 included) and bypass the ouput using a good balance of good quality electrolytic for bulk and ceramic or mica for high frequency and you will be fine. You cannot expect voltage regulators to have much high frequency bandwidth because of the inherent nature of the power transistors used to make them. That is what the output capacitors are for.I would not recommend the LM723 that someone mentioned in this post. It is decades old and has been outperformed for years by much better 3 terminal type regulators and is much harder to design with.
