Okay folks â€¦

We need to be real shameless, now.
We are grateful to all of you who signed-up, renewed and/or upgraded
your subscription to AA.
Those of you who are contributing have given generously, helping us
reach the $7,000 mark. Of that, about $5,000 will be spent on a new,
sorely needed, dedicated DB/Search server.
The membership drive ends this Friday, and in short, our current
fundraising/membership drive is about $3K off target.
There is the not so small matter of the monthly cost of T1. Current
usage on average is about 75% of capacity and peak usage from around
10AM to 2PM PST is typically maxed. If growth continues, we may
need to consider a second T1, caching servers, partial colocation or
other alternatives to maintain current performance levels. Any of
these options will indeed be more costly.
Cost is $850/month per T1 line â€¦ meaning that even without another
T1, AA will have to rely soley on Industry Sponsors after a couple
of months if we don't gain subscriptions from many more inmates.
RECAP
As of today, here are the member subscription stats:
-- 329 inmates are current subscribers.
-- There are 172 expired members from a total of 11,808 registered inmates.
-- In other words, there are 11,307 registered but non-subscribing members.
Even if we postulated that 2/3 of the registered inmates were non-active,
these figures would represent only a 10% level of paying subscribers.
Of course, we wouldn't ask you to part with hard-earned $$$ and not
generously reward your loyalty to the cause. As a reminder of the thank
