Nobody else has stepped up; so, I'll take a crack at this.The 4 deck switch would be used either for a stereo "L" pad stepped attenuator or a balanced stereo series wired stepped attenuator, when resistive voltage dividing level control is used.
Since transformer based level controls are wired much like series wired resistive attenuators, the 4 deck switch would be used to assemble a balanced stereo TVC.
Have you given thought to how you would control channel balance, should you choose to build a balanced stereo TVC?
