hello,the gain is pretty high as is...are you going to build the MC section as well? the MM section should be sufficient enough for your 10x4...though a shunted volume control (think sweet whispers) at the output of the MC may allow for some flexibility with regards to future cart changes and/or matching with your passive so you don't end up listening at 9 or 5 o' clock with the volume control.
