Tweakers' Asylum Tweaks for systems, rooms and Do It Yourself (DIY) help. FAQ. |

Hello,I am fairly new to this tube world and have recently built a very fine sounding pre-amp from Doc Bottlehead. I want to build some tube mono blocks but Doc says none of his will work with very inefficient speakers. I have and am very attached to my Rogers LS3/5As. They are grossly inefficient at 82db.
Does anyone know of some fine, relatively inexpensive kit tube mono blocks that would effectively push these speakers? Also, in case I try to just buy a vintage set of tube mono blocks amps, what minimum parameters should I look for when sizing them up for these speakers. I know that wattage output alone is not the defining factor.
Thank you in advance for you help.
