Any suggestions for a drop in replacement for a NJM4556 (similar M5216) op amp used as a cd player output driver? I know well about buffers and better ways of doing it. I'm just looking for a quick drop in/low mod effort that will better the performance of this lowly performer. Output current's the rub. The 4556 can drive 150 ohm loads (70mA), but sounds super harsh (well it is ancient). Any suggestions?
