I wholly concure w/ Russ in his caution to you. Another point to consider is that a 1st order XO combined w/ a natural 6 dB roll-off give you a 12 dB/oct (2nd order) effective response. If you were to change the mid XO or the tweeter XO you risk creating a null in the speaker's response, meaning you WOULD be reducing output in the crossover region. Also, as Russ points out, a well designed speaker system takes into account both the output & phase of a driver. If you change XO topology you also alter the phase of the driver's output, possibly causing further problems. Since you don't say what speakers you plan to tweak it's difficult to be more specific. I've modded a number of comm. designs and have always been reluctant to do a total redesign of the XO, instead preferring to sub better caps, coils, resistors, and wire. Good luck on your project.
