You ar right, they have a separate power supply. But Audiocom also admitted that for some CD players the results are only minor (for the clock only). I am relutant for buying the separate power supply as it is quite expensive and Audiocom stated that this normally was only a minor upgrade and the Clock the mayor upgrade. My CD-player only has 7volt power supply available and at initially the suggested spot only 4 volts. Both of these are way too low to get the clock to work properly. That's why I said be carefull and why I suggest to check your specific player before ordering it.
In my case I will need to make a PS myselve or will have to buy their separate power supply, in both cases this will mean I have to pay more than I expected.
