Frank,There's a million different tweaks you could do, but first you have to decide whether you're happy or at your wits end. Seriously - wits end, even as applied to tweaks, implies that you're unhappy with something about your system and that you're looking for a band-aid of some sort.
What is it that you're looking to maximize? Sonics is a pretty broad term. Do you mean you have an idea of how you want your system to sound, and although it sounds good right now, it doesn't sound the way you want? If that's the case then you may need to re-evaluate your system or at least some of the components.
If you're looking for more accuracy, try a different amp. If you're looking for more romance or emotion, try a different pre or CDP.
To simply get the most out of what you have is difficult to say because different tweeks do different things. You could try sandbags on your pre and CDP, small innertubes underneath them, or one of a million different cones - Black Diamond Racing has two different cones that have a different effect on sound (I should say resonance).
Theres all manner of mods and tweaks for Magnepans - check that forum. You may find that the cheapest and most effective tweak is just playing around with speaker placement. Ditch the bananas and get some spades instead.
Try your amp on a shelf - you can build an amp stand from start to finish inside two hours that is very effective. Email me if you want the recipe.
If you don't believe damping can have an effect or if you can't hear it, then maybe your system does not have that kind of resolution. Once again, you'll either need to re-evaluate your system or re-evaluate what it is that you're looking for. You can't have everything in audio, but you can have a balance of compromise.
