Having almost decided to fit this clock into my 10 year old Wadia WT3200 Transport, a visit to the site reveals the recommendation that it be fitted to the DAC instead - reason being that only the DAC is susceptible to jitter so signal paths should be kept as short as possible.
This would involve me drilling holes in both Transport and DAC, then fitting RCA connectors to allow a separate cable to carry the clock signal, while the usual coax would carry simple digital data; sounds great in theory but I`m not too keen in case I ever trade in the DAC for the next model up.Can anyone give me their views on if this is worth doing, or does fitting the clock (any clock) to the transport have almost the same effect in practice whatever the theory suggests?
Finally, does anyone know the frequency of the clock fitted to the Wadia WT3200 - I`d imagine it`s the same as the Marantz CD94/95 series?
If someone could let me know the e-mail address of LC audio I`d be able to find out off them, but a visit to the lcaudio.com site only gives `click to email` links which simply take me to my e-mail log-in page.Best Regards,
Chris Redmond.
