Your plan sounds OK, you seem to have the general idea.However, I warn you against attempting to build a bass trap larger in overall diameter than about 16 to 18", it becomes very difficult to get the wire fencing to stay tight, and to compress the fiberglass adeqautely, without any seams or gaps. May be AFTER you buyild some you could consider a larger one.
