I'm wondering the best way to regulate a 6v SLA battery or NiMH battery pack to supply power to a 5v DAC chip. I would like to feed the chip at it's voltage input pin, but a fully charged battery is up around 6v or over, in the case of a NiMH pack; I have no existing regulation in place in the circuit now. How do you "DC die hards" do it?
