I am in agreement with Robin Cook regarding the long break-in time for Black Gates. They seem to take forever to break-in, but when they do they typically sound great. Which series did you use? I've used the N and NX series for both feedback-to-ground and output coupling applications with good results. My Sony player is using two Elna Silmics in a back-to-back bipolar configuration. Have you used the Black Gate bipolars (N/NX) this way? Based on the feedback I've gotten so far, I'm not sure that I'm going to gain anything by using the Black Gates. Thanks for the input.
