I'm currently using round (like tuna cans) sponges both to lift my speaker cables off the floor and to separate the HF and LF legs of my biwire runs. They don't look half bad and cost something like 30 cents each. Unfortunately, they are yellow (just try to find black or gray sponges in the car cleaning supplies section!), but since I listen with the lights off, it's not too much of an issue.
