tweaking tube preamp

I am considering tweaking my AMC CVT1030, and was wondering if anybody has any experience tweaking this, or another tube pre?
This guys seems to use pretty run of the mill parts, so I was considering replacing some/most of the caps with blackgates, replacing resistors in the signal path with caddocks, and replacing the volume pot with an alps black beauty. I would go for a stepped attn., but budget won't allow it for now.

As far as the caps go, most of them are standard electrolytes or ceramics, so some appear to be more special. I was wondering if tube pres require some high voltage, non polarized caps, as the special caps are mostly around the tubes. Should I leave these caps alone, and just worry about the other ones, or can I change these, as long as I get the right kind, and what would be the right kind?

Any help here would be most appreciated.
BTW, I am also posting this message on the tube DIY and tube section, to cover my bases.

Thanks,
Randy
