Hi David,I have built two sets of successful electrostatic loudspeakers, and have gained a lot of experience from just those two projects. The ones I am currently using serve as a tweeter and an extremely low midrange. The bass is not incredible, but the midrange is. My website on how to build the ESLs is listed below, there are several construction suggestions on how to get you started off on the right foot.
Do not expect it to be a two day project, however, since you must take care to insulate the perforated steel. Also, when you purchase your perforated steel, use either 3/16" or 1/8" perforations. Anything smaller will not pass the lower midrange.
Stop by my website, there are step by step instructions, and links to other ESL sites and parts suppliers.
If you have any questions feel free to contact me either through AA or by the email address on my website.
Good Luck!
