Re: I do....

Hi,

> Do you have anything on line about your solid wood speakers?

No, not really. I just found that using solid wood boards sounds "better" (the right term perjhaps would be more realistic, more natural?).

Having heard and build speakers out of most possible materials I find that damping and unnatural materials make the sound like that too. Using solid wood mens notable resonances, but with low audibiliy (the BBC and Spendor got that idea too). perhaps the Speakers sounds a littly too woody, not sure, a Violin sounds "woody" too.

All I find is that resonances in material are near impossible to kill, so making them "musically consonant" means you forget about them. I test wood I intend to use by" knuckle rap" test for the "right tone".

The Enclosures I use now where build around 30 Years ago by a now sadly passed on friend. Back then solid wood boards where actually comparably cheap, so he used it. It also made for very good and natural sounding speakers.

So yes. I listen to around 30 Year old DIY Speakers. And do they ever so much whup butt compared to most modern so-called "High Fidelity" Speakers as well. But that, as they say is a different story.

Ciao T
