So I ask again. What's to stop floor borne vibrations from traveling up this design, all the way to the components being supported?
My belief: nothing at all.
I've heard the "mechanical diode" argument many times but have never seen it substantiated. My own experience has shown me that if I can rap a knuckle on the support platform and feel the rap in the component, as indeed is the case, the argument becomes a product of marketing and not one of science.
Note that I'm not saying such a device won't change the sound; I'm sure it will. But *change* and *improvement* are two different things.
