If you are really talking high-end, you want to modify the input circuit, not cascade another handful of components to cancel a handful of built-in components. Adds noise in several ways.Actually he said "Obviously we aren't talking 'High End' here!.." Seems he's looking for a purely ultilitarian solution where quality isn't of utmost concern. Perhaps a computer sound card or something.
