I just went down to the local Bed, Bath & Beyond and got 8 large soup spoons. The closer to an optimal and even shape the better. I mounted these on some 1/4" oak floorboard cut and routed in the middle to accommodate the curve of the spoon. Some 2 sided foam tape holds the spoons on the wood. I used a 1" chrome steel ball from Small Parts. The spoons go top (attached to the bottom of a maple shelf with some tape) and bottom around the ball.Much more play/sway than my old drawer pulls and marbles. A slight push keeps the shelf moving for some time. The turntable is effectively isolated from me walking across the floor - although it probably wont's totally isolate my 4 year old :->
Enjoy,
Bob
