Tweakers' Asylum Tweaks for systems, rooms and Do It Yourself (DIY) help. FAQ. |

Have all my electronics plugged into a fairly inexpensive power strip which I believe is for surge protection. I believe they help against line noise or at least there is an indication of a rating for RFI noise or something like that. My tube power amp is the only component plugged into the wall outlet as going through power strip there is evidence of a hum in both my speakers (ground loop I suppose) which is not a factor now. I'm in an apartment and hear no hiss, pops, static whatsoever coming through the speakers when system is on but idle and when neighbors turn on their gadgets. I'm assuming line conditioner may help possibly further strengthen the signal through my system to enhance the playback of a recording?
