Tweakers' Asylum Tweaks for systems, rooms and Do It Yourself (DIY) help. FAQ. |

Hello,For people building sound absorbing panels, I'm sure that I'm not the only one who wants them took look nice. Since I'm not a craftsman, making them look nice myself is a gamble.
Wouldn't using a bookcase filled with fiberglass insulation do the trick? I guess the tricky part would be to figure out how to cover the front of the fiberglass and have it look good. Another option would be to use a nice looking foam in front (perhaps Cutting Wedge) and put the fiberglass behind it.
Here is a site with various cases:
http://www.grantswoodworking.com/catalog3908.htmlThey can be ordered in different widths (18 inch to 36 inch) and different depths (10 inch to 14 inch). I'm considering either a 24 or 30 inch wide case in a 10 inch depth. Am I off my rocker, or does this sound like a decent idea?
Thanks!
Scott
