What is the brand and model of your preamp ? If your preamp has a "processor loop" you should plug your range expander and bass synthesizer into it. If there is no processor loop, you should have at least one tape loop that has a "monitor" option (a.k.a. tape monitor) which permits real-time monitoring of the signal being recorded. Connect your external devices [both in series] to the "REC OUT" and "PLAY" jacks, and turn the "monitor" or "tape" feature to the "ON" position.
