Has anyone found a good way to access digital audio on their personal computer? Many motherboards offer SPDIF as an option which provides both optical and copper digtal interfaces. When I bought my motherboard, I was unable to find any vendor offering the SPDIF option. However the board appears to have the traces and holes in the board for the SPDIF connector.
Could it be as simple as connecting to these traces to pull a digital off? Has anyone tried this, or is there an even easier way to do this?
