10% is just a "rule of thumb". Try some of the smaller (capacitance, price, and size) units and see if it helps. As always, your ears are the arbiter.The previous poster was correct; 80 muF is too big for a tube rectifier to drive. Put the 40 muF. section before the choke and put the 80 muF. section after the choke. 40 muF. is OK for a 5AR4; it's too much for quite a few of the other types.
