I have made my own spikes (for the speaker to stand interface) from blocks of jarrah and copper screws..
here's how:
- cut the wood into blocks that are just thinner than the length of the screws
- drill a pilot hole through the block and carve out a space for the screw head (counter sinking the head)
- screw the screw into the block completely
you should be left with a block with the top of the screw flush (or slightly indented) with the face of the wood, and on the other side, you'll have the point of the screw just sticking out.
if you combine this with blu-tak to connect the spikes to the speakers and you place small coins under the spikes you can have quite an effective spiked situation that looks attractive as well.Kye.
