You "heard" correctly. My understanding is that the new production is no longer non-magnetic. When I ordered from M. Percy fairly recently, I insisted on NOS. Antique ES is closing out and discontinuing Holco because of price rises. It appears as though the product is being cheapened while the price is going up. GREEDY buggers, I'll take my business elsewhere! Mouser stocks some Dale stuff that is supposed to be good. "Doc B." favors Xicon, which by all accounts is not junk. An interesting twist is using the 5% tolerance Riken Carbon film parts available from Angela Instruments. The Rikens appear to be well made with Gold plated Copper leads. I've got some Rikens that are going into my ZEN amps along with the NOS HOLCOs.
