Hi again BobI matched up the 0.1uF 14 caps to identical value within about 100pf of each other. I chose them from over 100 of the same type - all of the passive components I used are absolutely matched to death LOL... Perhaps thats partly why I have such a great sound already.. still want more if there's more to be had!
Yes I realised that the voltages of the 1541's supplies are -5 +5 and -15V. The -15 line measures at -14.75 so I guess 16V will be okay, but I am a great believer in headroom and its almost touching the ceiling
"Also, there should be filter networks on B+ 1 and B+2. Maybe 5 ohms and a larger cap"
How big a cap?
BTW The regulator IC2 is an LM317AT (2% version of LM317T)
I have OPA627AP opamps here, but have read cautions from John Risch on here about using this amp properly.. Mr Risch please comment when you read this, thanks matey! =)
My brother had somewhat negative opinions about the use of the older 1541 chip - but now he's in the process of collecting parts to build one himself... now that was a nice little u-turn hehehe!
!!! The TDA1541A rules 16 bit CD !!! Period. Thanks lads for your valued ideas and suggestions
