Below 10, the power supply will have serious problems and values of about 100 will achieve diminishing performance returns. The minimum value then, for each of the four power supply capacitors should be about 3,000uF and the maximum about 30,00OuF. Capacitances above this value may cause diode bridge failure due to turn-on surges and are not recommended.<< The QSC USA 400, a 400 watt amp, uses 2,200µF filter caps.The Carver M1.5T, a 1200 watt amplifier, uses 3,400µF caps.The Bryston 4B, an 800 watt amp praised by Stereophile magazine as having killer bass, uses 4,700µF caps.The Crown MA10000, a 7Kw amp, uses a single 10,000µF cap(being a bridge amp it only has one supply).
