Very proud of myself!

I took a TV that I'd had since High-School, and gave it a good personality! After a cheesy conversation with sharp reps, I wound up having to crack open the case to adjust the CRT convergence. The freaking thing had a single tube, with a clamp on adjustment module! What about that, a 300$ tv with crappy parts. Anyway, I was having so much trouble getting the adjustments on the six rotary adjusters (which did not control the tilt of the B/R sections, my primary problem) I decided to go for broke and slide the adjustment device towards the board at the base of the tube. A few twists of a screw driver later, and quiet a few held breaths (saying "I don't wanna die!!!-it was plugged in) I found that the adjustments were decreased in magnitude. Seemed odd, but this decrease allowed a much better correlation between dot locations, and finally, the TV is worthwhile for serious movie watching!! Just a point- it's often easy to do stuff yourself, as long as you excercize caution. Now to figure out why my amp buzzes....
